Carrying a child for nine months is hard and painful at times, raising them is twice as hard. Now thinking and giving the appropriate name for your baby tops them all. Of course, you don’t want to give your baby a name that he or she might end up hating when he or she’s old enough to research for the meaning of his or her name, right? So when I was pregnant with my daughter, I researched thoroughly for the meaning of her name, though I’m not even sure about the gender of my baby that time.

Most of us give our children a name that sound really good but doesn’t really care about the meaning or the origin of each name. Each name has its country of origin or etymology. And each time we think of names, the first thing that comes to mind that it has to have the letters or the initials of your and your partner’s name. For example, my name is April and my husband’s name is Ronnie, so if I’m kinda’ old fashioned and wants to pattern my baby’s name with my name and my husband’s by combining our names together, well my daughter’s name would be either Apron or Roanne (because my full name is April Anne) or somewhere around Annie? A for April and nnie for Ronnie? I don’t quite like the sound of it.

So what’s more with a boy’s name? Most of the dad’s out there are guilty by giving their sons their name, which sometimes kinda’ old fashioned. Example, your name is Wilbur and you want to give your son your name so he’ll became your junior, and his nickname would be Junior as well. Don’t you think your son might hate being called Junior much more your name? (no offense meant for those who are named as such). And well, there’s nothing really wrong with Wilbur, but it reminds me of the movie Charlotte’s Web.
So for quick reference for your baby boy’s name, I compiled a list of names and their meanings and their origins. Might as well, think of a unique name with a unique meaning. Read on:

Those are few unique names with their unique meanings. Some of the spellings and pronunciations are hard but their meanings hold a lot of personality and vigor to those who will posses the name. And who would have thought that Barak actually means lightning or flashing sword, and it’s a biblical name.

Baby names comes from wide variations and from all over the world, the names that I’ve enlisted are the names that I find interesting and has a beautiful meaning that whenever your son ask you what his name means, you can proudly say that his name means something good. Maybe most of the names that I picked are either hard to pronounce or hard to spell, but hey, that’s just me. You can check out other names in Google or any other websites that has search engines for more simple names yet holds a special meaning.
